Oregon’s
great outdoors offers a world of things to see and do – from
fish hatcheries to wildlife areas to state parks to national forests.
Working with the Department of Fish and Wildlife, we developed
Oregon’s first guide to accessible outdoor recreation areas
throughout the state. In a pocket-sized, easy-to-use format, Access:
Oregon contains brief site descriptions, driving directions,
services available, accessibility of facilities according to the
standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and locator maps.
"It
might be the edge of the world, this windswept basalt upthrust
at the northern edge of Oregon’s highest desert. Below
rolls the Columbia, mother of salmon. To the south and east,
a dramatic landscape stretches as far as the eye can see: mountain,
crag, canyon, grassland, river, and reservoir."
